Meet the artist: Gemma Hazen
Aloha! I’m Gemma.
I’m a Hawai’i-born artist, maker, and collector of stories. My work under the name Mosslike is a reflection of my multicultural roots (including native Hawaiian) and my obsession with the world around me—from the plants in my backyard to the old, silver-nitrate ghosts found in antique photos.
I work mostly in paint and ink, though I can never resist the pull of fiber arts and sewing. My goal is simple: to portray the people, plants, and pets that make life meaningful, often with a touch of the supernatural or the superstitious.
The Shop & Sustainability
Mosslike started as a way to fuel my “art habit” and share my visions with you, while not relying on media giants and their algorithms. I’m proud to offer a range of artist-designed merch, from stickers to T-shirts. Because I care about the earth that inspires me, I opt for sustainable materials—choosing cotton, wood, and glass over plastic at every opportunity.
One-of-a-Kind Finds
Looking for something truly unique? I occasionally release original paintings, hand-sewn projects, and custom nesting doll sets. These are one-off pieces that don’t stay in the shop long!
