This digital portrait was created in ProCreate using a reference from Sktchy.com
The reference photo was beautiful to begin with, so it was easy to keep the art super clean and minimal.
Simple linework on the top layer. I like to use the ‘6B pencil’ brush to do sketch-like lines.
I chose to use the blue to draw modern shapes where the shadows would be. Pink, rosy tones were used to add life to the digital portrait. To add these bold shapes, I like to use the ‘Gouache’ brush. If you hold the pen to the tablet with out lifting, you can get a really even and smooth effect that works great with opacity to do soft washes of color.
I should definitely try this style again on more faces.
